A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 30th at 1pm at Evans Valley Cemetery (aka Valley view Cemetery) near Silverton Oregon, with a reception to follow at Oregon Garden Resort 895 W Main St. Silverton, OR.
Janice was born April 18, 1943, in Salem Oregon, to Earl and Eunice (Meissner) Burk.
She graduated from South Salem High School in 1961. She married Dennis Laudon (deceased), and had two children, Scott and Dianna.
She went on to complete her nursing degree at Chemeketa Community College and was employed by Fairview Hospital and Oregon State hospital. She lived in Salem Oregon for almost 60 years before early retirement and then moved to Anchorage Alaska where her children and brother reside.
In life and retirement, she enjoyed housekeeping, travel, and watching the Portland Trail Blazers on her 65" television. She was so proud of her home.
Her family wrote: "Janice had a special love for all animals, an inspiration to her family. She lived her life with bravery enduring many health challenges. She has been taken now to rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus."
Janice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lisa of Anchorage; daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Brian of Anchorage; grandchildren, Valerie, Brooke, Sydney, Piper and Tanner, all of Anchorage; brother and sister-in law, Don and Renee Burk of Anchorage; step-sister Judy Bonk, and nieces, nephew, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Earl Burk and Eunice Meissner.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alaska Kidney Foundation, 3000 8th St # 410, Anchorage, AK 99503.
