Giles W Webb was a early pioneer and was the second son of Caleb and Mary Ann (Hudspeth) Webb. Giles had removed from North Carolina with his mother and two brothers to Overton County Tennessee. While in Tennessee, they established their farming and timber operations on several large tracts of land that are now flooded due to the construction of Dale Hollow Dam. Giles W Webb had married Emily Louise Holman in 1836, the sister of Jestina Holman and wife of his older brother Hudspeth. After 1860, along with his family, they removed to Moreau Township, Morgan County Missouri. Many of his family members are buried in the vicinity of his and Emily's graves. See "The Brief History and Genealogy of the Webb Family for a detailed account and photos of the Webb family.
