M. Larkin Patterson, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011.

He was born October 30, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Lester H. and Ellen Larkin Patterson.
He served as a Captain in the Marine Corp. during WW II.

Larkin married Arlene Geary December 10, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. Arlene passed away September 14, 2004.

He had received an Associate Degree at Weber State College and attended the University of Utah and Colorado College.

In his youth he served an LDS Mission to Ontario, Canada. He served in many church leadership capacities, including Bishops Counselor Ogden 4th Ward, Holliday 21st and Roy 2nd Ward, Bishop of the Coalville 2nd Ward and Holliday 18th Ward , member of the Stake High Council, Stake President of the Roy Stake, Ward Choir Leader, he organized and had led a Stake Young Men's Choir, teacher, President of the Sunday School, YMMIA in the Ward and Stake, Regional Welfare agent, Sealer and Ordinance Worker at the Ogden Temple from 1988 to 2008. He also served a service mission to the Ogden Cannery.

Larkin served as a Director of the Roy Water Conservancy District, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, and six years as a member of the Roy City Council.
He was a Funeral Director since 1946, Vice President of Myers Mortuary, manager of Myers Mortuary of Roy, and owned and operated Patterson Mortuary in Coalville.

He is survived by two sons, Michael (Judy) Patterson of Eden; Kevin (Caryol) Patterson of Roy; two daughters, Ann (Harold) Young of Ogden; Nancy (Tim) Neal of Holbrook, ID; 25 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.

The Patterson family would like to express their special thanks to Karen Jones and Kim Day for the tender care they provided.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Roy 13th Ward, 5127 South 2400 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Sunday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, South Morgan Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
