Julie Faye Young was born to Elmer A. Young and Garnett M. Young, October 5, 1947, in Kingman, Kansas. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School, Kingman High School, Pittsburg State University and Hutchinson Community College. She received her Certificate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene June 1, 1969, and was in the first graduating class at Wichita State University's newly founded Dental Hygiene School in Wichita, Kansas. She worked as a dental hygienist in Tulsa and Jenks more than 40 years. Her sweet spirit, humor and endless devotion to her family, friends and patients will be remembered with love. She is survived by her mother, Garnett M. Young of Broken Arrow; sister, Joy Young Norton and godson, Eric Norton both of Plano, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sharon Young of Tulsa and their children, niece Angela Young Wagner and her husband Mike, great nephew Adam, nieces Leah and Sophie, all of Kansas City, Kansas; nephew Todd Young and his wife Suellen, great nieces Eden and Lily of Austin, Texas and brother Ken Young and his wife, Shirley of Yukon, Oklahoma. A Requiem Mass will celebrate the life of Julie at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Broken Arrow. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, St. Francis Hospital Hospice Services or Clarehouse.
