OBITUARY: Fred K. Gassaway, The body of Fred K. Gassaway, 37, who died in the Unites States bureau hospital at Hines Illinois Friday night at 7:30 arrived in Rogers (Arkansas) Tuesday night and funeral services were held Wednesday. Mr. Gassoway moved to Rogers about two years ago from Stilwell, Oklahoma and his family is living at 1110 South Third Street. Mr. Gassoway had been in ill health for the last four years, and had spent the greater portion of the last year at the Institute in Illinois. He returned to the hospital about three months ago. He was a veteran of the World war and a member of the Rogers post of the American Legion. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Anna Gassoway, one daughter, Mildred Mae, five years old, and one son, Kinton Karl, three years old; his mother, Mrs. Mae Gassoway, and two brothers, Floyd and Frank of Stilwell. A short funeral service was conducted at Callison undertaking parlor at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by the American Legion. The body was taken immediately afterward to Fayetteville for burial in the national cemetery. The burial service was conducted by the American Legion. A. D. His wife died a few days later and was buried in the Bentonville Cemetery.
