Elizabeth went by the stage name of Lillian Tyson. She performed on stage in musical comedies from 1888 - 1908. Sometimes she would perform with her two sisters. Together they had the stage name of The Tyson Sisters. Elizabeth "Lillie" was married to John G. Jermon, one of the leading figures in burlesque during the early part of the 20th century. His peak as a burlesque producer was as one of the dominant figures in what was called the Columbia Burlesque Wheel. This was a circuit of some forty theaters between Broadway and Omaha, Nebraska.
Elizabeth was born in Baltimore to Frank H L and Mary E (Mormann) Tiemann. She was one of 11 children. Sisters Ida and Anna completed the Tyson sisters as Maryland and Virginia Tyson. She and John adopted two girls - Veronica and Helen Ruth.
