Mayor of Cincinnati, Physician. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was elected as Mayor and served from 1910 to 1911. He studied medicine, received his pharmacist's license in 1874, and earned his M.D. from the Ohio Medical College in 1883. He was the Hamilton County Coroner and a member of the Board of Education as well as a popular physician. He held the office of Mayor during a turbulent time in the Cincinnati's history when mob bosses fought for control of the city. His son, Nelson Schwab, was a state court Judge. He died at his residence in Cumminsville in 1926 when he was 75 years old.
