Walter P. Akin passed away in his home Monday, May 30, 2005 at age 78. He was born on September 21, 1926 in Washington DC.
He was employed by the Redondo Beach Police Department and California Department of Water Resources. Walter was a member of the Paradise Masonic Lodge and he was past President of the Paradise Shriners. Walter was a World War II Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Akin of 61 years, five children, Tim, Steve, Jeff Akin, Kathy Howell and Linda Edwards all of Paradise, a nephew, Richard Akin, 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2005 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. at Rose Chapel. A graveside service will take place Monday, June 6, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Paradise Cemetery. Published in Paradise Post from June 4 to June 6, 2005.
