Mrs. Maria Abrams [sic-Abraham], who has been ill for some months, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Province at Providence last Thursday.
Mrs. Abrams [sic] was born October 19, 1818 [stone shows 18 Sep 1817] in England and came to this country with her parents when seven years of age. After coming to the United States she lived with her parents at Cincinnati until her marriage to William Abrams [sic]. To them were born six children, five of whom reside in Johnson county. She is a member of the Providence Christian church and a devout woman, loved by a wide circle of friends. The funeral was held at the Providence Christian church Friday morning and the remains were buried in the Hopewell cemetery.

Maria was born on the Isle of Wight to John Arnold.
She and her family emigrated to America in 1821 on the
same ship as the Abraham family.
