MISSOURI VALLEY, Iowa --- Lt. Col. Oscar L. Bond, Jr., 79, died Sunday, April 21, 2002 in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Mr. Bond was born in Wiggins and was a resident of Pass Christian for many years before moving to Iowa several months ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Col. in 1967 after over 25 years of service. He was a former member of the Pass Christian Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Bond.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra D. Bond of Logan, Iowa; a son, Wilson Hunter Swilley of Persia, Iowa; two sisters, Dorothy Terry of Hattiesburg and Mary Garven of St. Charles, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 7 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery, with full military honors.
