In July of 1945, Virginia married Harold Clyde McCoy in Sterling, Colorado. The couple moved to McCook later that same year. To this union five children where born. Harold passed away in 1977.
Virginia was a busy homemaker, staying home with her children while they were young. Once grown, Virginia became a dietician at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She worked for more than 20 years, retiring at the age of 80.
Virginia was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson and served as President of the Culbertson VFW Auxiliary. She also served in several state offices for the VFW Auxiliary. Virginia loved to play bingo and watch sports, especially the Denver Broncos. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Harold; parents Lester and Sarah; daughters, Cindy McCoy and Andra McDonough; grandson, Monte Larreau; two brothers; and six sisters.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Rudy and wife, Connie McCoy of Culbertson, Nebraska and Charlie and wife, Kim McCoy of Douglas, Wyoming; daughter, Sadie Larreau of Brighton, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Burial was in the Culbertson Cemetery.
