Eleazer Burbank, Sr. was one of the children born to Captain Silas Burbank and Hannah Baird (Beard). He (and his brother David) served as a fifer(it was a non-combative position-he played an instrument similar to a flute) in his father's Company with the 12th Mass. during the Revolutionary War when he was very young.

Eleazer, Sr. was united in marriage to Mary Brackett in 1788 in Scarborough and they were blessed to be the parents of at least eleven children during their marriage:
