Per "History of Upson County, Georgia," by Nottingham & Hannah (1930), p. 675, also serving in this company was J. M. MALLORY - evidently Thomas' brother Jesse M. MALLORY - and both men entered and separated as Privates, and these two men's families are reported next door to each other on the 1880 census of Blackankle (Georgia Militia District #494), Upson County, GA.
On 18 OCT 1861, Thomas J. MALLORY enlisted as a Private in Company I (Upson County, Georgia), 6th Regiment, Georgia State Troops. Mustered out APR 1862. Enlisted 07 MAY 1862 as a Private in Company I, 32nd regiment, Georgia Infantry, and later in 1862 transferred to Company A, 46th Regiment, Georgia Infantry. Surrendered 26 APR 1865 at Greensboro, North Carolina.
