Edward B Karnopp, age 67, of rural Gays Mills, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 1997 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse as a result of severe blood infection.

He was born on December 16, 1929 in Boscobel, the son of Bernard and Clara (Smith) Karnopp. He married Jackie Copas on July 16, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was a WWII Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Gays Mills; two sons, Douglas (Michelle) Karnopp of Gays Mills, and David Karnopp and friend Stacey Baumeister, both of Gays Mills; one daughter, Mrs Dawn (Harrison) Adkins of Prairie du Chien; four grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond (Dixie) Karnopp of Lancaster, Robert (Sandy) Karnopp of Arkansas and Larry (Delores) Karnopp of Gays Mills; and one sister, Mrs Dorothy Steinbach of Wauzeka.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 1997 at 8 p.m. at the Thoni-Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Diego Orsini will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 6 p.m. until the time of service at the Thoni-Kendall Funeral Home. Private interment will be held on Saturday at the Haney Ridge Cemetery, Crawford County, WI
