Screenwriter. He is best known for creating the hit TV series "Bewitched" (1964 to 1972). Raised in Chicago, he began his scriptwriting career during the mid-1950s with the TV program "My Favorite Husband" (1953), and from the influence of the motion pictures "I Married a Witch" (1942) and "Bell Book and Candle" (1958), Saks conceived the idea for a television series based on a witch (Elizabeth Montgomery was cast for the part) whom married a mortal man. In addition, Saks contributed stories to the series "Mr. Adams and Eve" (1957 to 1958) and wrote the screenplay for the film "Walk Don't Run" (1966), which was of note for being Cary Grant's last picture.
