US Congressman. Born near Brownsville, Kentucky, he graduated from the law department of the University of Louisville, was admitted to the bar in 1923 and commenced to practice law in Leitchfield, Kentucky. He was elected attorney of Grayson County, serving (1925-43). In 1943, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-eighth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Edward W. Creal and served until 1945. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law until he retired. He relocted to North Seminole, Florida, where lived until death at age 83.
