DAVENPORT - Erin R. Baker, of Davenport, died Monday, October 17, 2005, at Genesis West Medical Center, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 21, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Erin was born June 29, 1981, in Davenport, to Gene Baker and Sheryl Walkup. She enjoyed writing and puzzles. She had a great sense of humor and had fun playing practical jokes. She fought her illness courageously since age 15 with the help of her loving family. Survivors include her parents, Sheryl Walkup and Gene Baker, of Davenport; her sisters, Alexia Knight, of Germantown, Maryland, Lynsi Brown, of Des Moines, Yvette Green, Houston, Texas, Angela Hansen, Rock Island, and Brianna Brown, Boston, Massachusetts; brothers, Jason Baker, Davenport, and Harold Clay, Des Moines; aunts, Joy Calloway, Roselle, Illinois, Sheila Renee Jones, Quincy, Illinois, and Shelia McKinley, Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Gertrude Walkup and Eugene and Victoria Baker.
