Second Victim Dies Of Injuries In Auto Crash

SMETHPORT-Mrs. Madeline Button, thirty-two years old, wife of Howard K. Button of Forest Avenue, died Sunday morning (November 29, 1942) at twelve-forty-five o'clock at the Kane Community Hospital. She was the second victim to die of injuries suffered Friday evening when her car, with three other passengers, skidded and crashed into a pole and rolled over an embankment on a dangerous curve on Route 6.
The two other surviving victims of the crash, Miss Zada Huff, sister of Mrs. Button, and Miss Margaret Keiter of East Smethport, remain in serious condition, according to reports late last evening from hospital authorities.
Survivors other than her husband, Howard, and her parents, include a son, David, aged seven; four brothers, Clifton and Duane Huff, both of Olean, Carl Huff of Cincinnati, and Wallace Huff, Buffalo; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Gunsolus, Franklinville, N.Y., Mrs. Robert Rothwell of Oklahoma and her sister, Miss Huff, a patient in the Kane Community Hospital.
Deceased was born in Olean June 27, 1910 and had lived in Smethport for the past five years. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Olean.
Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
