Janet Joan (Moulden) Alexander,75, Easton, KS passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 in Tucson, AZ. At the time of her passing she was living in
Tucson, Arizona.
Janet was born April 6, 1936 in Leavenworth, KS the daughter of Harry
Edward and Hilda Ruth (Niemann) Moulden. On June 9, 1950 she married Ray Francis Alexander at St John Lutheran Church in Easton, KS. He preceded
her in death on March 24, 2010.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl L. Holmes (Thomas), Steve M.
Alexander (Kris) daughter in law, Teri Alexander, six grandchildren,
Thomas, Matthew, Cory, Morgan, Corey and Tesia, nine great grand children,
Joshua, Kyle, Nathan, Michael, Darrin, Alexis, Anthony, Amaya and Jayde,
brothers, Harry Wayne Moulden (Karin) , John Moulden (Pat), and Danny
Moulden (Diane), brother in law, (Retired) Capt. Marvin G. Alexander and
sister in law Betty Jo Alexander.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Mary Elaine
Alexander, grandson, Darrin Thomas Alexander and son, Thomas Ray Alexander.
Prior to her marriage to Ray she attended Easton High School and
throughout their sixty year marriage they lived and worked in California,
Missouri, Texas, and Arizona. She retired from U.S. West Telephone Co. in
Arizona in 1995. Home was always the farm in Easton, KS.
She was an avid Basketbal l and Football fan, she loved to travel, loved
and enjoyed spending time with her many friends throughout the United
States and Canada.
She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Easton, KS and
was confirmed into the church in 1951. While living in Arizona she
attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tucson.
Janet loved and cherished her family and friends, she was known for her
beautiful smile and her strong spirit.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M Wednesday, April 20, 2011
at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10 A.M Thursday,
April 21, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church, 34771 243rd Street, Easton,
KS. 66020. Pastor Gary Merritt will officiate. Interment will follow in
the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the St. John Lutheran Cemetery Fund or Darrin and Thomas Alexander Scholarship Fund in care of the Davis
Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth, KS 66048.
