The funeral of Mrs. Nora Bartimus, who died Tuesday at the home of a daughter in Vandalia, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Brush Creek church, southeast of Neoga. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Bartimus, as Nora Spencer, was born March 2, 1877, in Cumberland county and lived there until 1923, when she moved to Mattoon. Her husband, Lorenzo Bartimus, to whom she married 41 years ago, died in 1924.
Mrs. Bartimus had been in poor health for several years, but did not become seriously ill until Sunday while visiting in Vandalia. Her last residence in Mattoon was at 2716 Prairie avenue, but she resided for some time at 2612 Prairie avenue.
She leaves six children, Samuel Bartimus of Trilla, Charles Bartimus of Toledo, John Bartimus of Mattoon, Mrs. John Emert of Vandalia and Mrs. Beulah Kimery and Mrs. Bertha Cook, both of Mattoon. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Shupe of Decatur and Mrs. William Landers of Wellington, Kan.
The body is now at the home of the son, John Bartimus, 801 North Eleventh street.
