Mrs. Mary E. Kessel, 75, wife of Thomas Kessel, died Sunday at 7:45 a.m. in her home in Gas Valley, Hancock County.
She was a member of the Pughtown Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Kessel leaves three daughters, Mrs. Alice Allison and Mrs. Helen Pugh of Chester and Mrs. Anthony [Lois] Bischoff of Milton, W. Va.; four sons, Edgar E. Kessel of Cleveland, Don M. [sic: W.] Kessel at home, Bernard M. Kessel of Detroit, and Kenneth Kessel of New Cumberland, four sisters, Mrs. D. M. [Sarah] Cunningham, Mrs. Thomas [Willie Gertrude] Allison, Mrs. Robert [Georgianna] Allison, and Mrs. James [Martha] Babb, all of Chester; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the home in charge of Rev. Emil Teyssler of Elders Ridge, Pa., former pastor of the Pughtown Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at Pughtown. Friends may call at the home tonight.
