Howard Armstrong, 86, of Paducah died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A Calloway County native, Mr. Armstrong was a retired welder at Martin Marietta and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ruth Futrell Armstrong; a daughter, Terri Waldridge of Brookport, Ill.; a sister, Eva Tucker of Murray; a brother, the Rev. Glenn Armstrong of Beaver Dam; and a grandson, Cole Waldridge.

He was preceded in death by a brother. His parents were Elon Armstrong and Lydia "Brownie" Armstrong.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lone Oak chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
