Doyle S. Ballengee, 80, of Grantsville, died Saturday, October 5th in Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
Born in Braxton County, he was a son of the late French S. and Elva Jane McMorrow Ballengee. He was retired from the Babcock and Wilcox Company of Barberton, Ohio and was a US Air Force Veteran of W.W.I.I. He was a committed Christian and a member of the Victory Baptist Church of Grantsville. He served his Lord in many ways including his prison ministry in many communities bringing the Gospel and hope to those who were incarcerated.
Surviving are one son, Carl Ballengee of Millstone and one daughter, Cheri Pittman of Grantsville. 2 brothers, Garland Ballengee of Duck and Lewis Ballengee of Vienna. 1 sister, Virginia McCoy of Benham, Texas. 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Reda E. Ballengee.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Rt. 16 South, Grantsville. Rev. John Powell and Rev. Mike Worf officiated. Interment was in the Perry James Cemetery at Frametown. Stump Funeral Home of Grantsville assisted the family with the arrangements.
