Kevork (George) Donoian immigrated to the United States from Malatya at age 11, arriving in New York on December 10, 1911 aboard La Touraine from Le Havre. His sister Mariam had left for America earlier in the year to marry Nazareth Sookasian of Philadelphia, after which Nazareth arranged for Kevork to join them in Philadelphia at 816 Berks Street. He attended school in Philadelphia and in 1926 married Nazareth's niece Viola Azadigian. They adopted two children and lived out their lives in Philadelphia.
