Herbert Louis Emil Liefer, 92, of Steeleville, formerly of Campbell Hill, passed away at 8:30 A.M. Sunday, April 17, 2011, at St. Ann's Healthcare Center in Chester, IL.
He was born July 15, 1918 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the son of Theodore C. Liefer and Wilhelmina Ehlers Liefer. He married Bertha Lange on August 25, 1940. She passed away on January 3, 2004. He was also preceded in death one son, Arlin; his parents; step-mother; sister; one infant brother; brother-in-law; son-in-law; one grandson and one great great grandson.
He is survived by two sons, Roger and Sadie Liefer of St. Peters, MO and Dale and Debbie Liefer of Ballwin, MO; three daughters, Rose Marie Bartens, Eldean and Leslie Troue and Marla and Steve Helmers all of Steeleville; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
