Ida Sophia was born on a small farm called Hakabo just outside of Hokerum Sweden. She immigrated with her family when she was 12 years old, first joining her uncle Sven Johnson in Rockford Illinois before the family started a farm in Hancock Township Carver County Minnesota now part of Cologne. She would marry Reverand Carl Bernhard Leonard Boman a.k.a CBL, a prominent minister in southern Minnesota.
