Jean Berit Sheahan, 57, of Great Kills, a bank assistant manager who is remembered as a loving wife and mother, died Wednesday at Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.

Born Jean Hallem in Brooklyn, she was brought to Great Kills in 1968 and graduated from Tottenville High School.

After receiving her degree from the College of Staten Island, she pursued a career in banking at Richmond County Savings Bank and was an assistant manager.

Mrs. Sheahan devoted herself to their sons, said her husband, Charles. "Nothing made her happier than spoiling her boys and her cats," he added.

Surviving, along with Charles, her husband of thirty-six years, are her sons, Richard, Robert, and Kenneth; her parents, Kari and Torger Hallem; her brother, John-Eric Hallem; and her sister, Karin DeLuca.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. in the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Eltingville.
Arrangements include private cremation.
