Donald Nephi Hoopiiaina, age 70, passed away September 13, 1999 in West Valley City, Utah.

Born September 26, 1928 in Murray, Utah, son of Neeley and Ella Hoopiiaina. Married Wanda Evensen; later divorced. Married Doris Erickson January 14, 1980 in Elko, Nevada. He loved sports and played football for the Navy. He was honored with a World War II Victory Medal, American Theater, Good Conduct Medal, Chinese Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal and Asiatic Pacific Medal. Member of the LDS Church.Survived by children, Helen (Ron) McOsker, Ruby (Kim) Parry, Donald (Talynn) Hoopiiaina, Sheryl (Paul) Segura, Neil (Vicki) Kemp; many grand and great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
