Son of Tom D. Foster and Susie Isabel Casey-Foster. Brother of Everett Foster, Lena May Foster-O'Malley, Clifford Clenton Foster, Nola Marie and Kathrine Foster-Davidson.

Husband of Clella "June" Storie. Father of Lenda Sue Foster-Rogers. Named after his paternal grandmother, Louvina Riley-Foster, and maternal grandfather, Abe Casey.

Luie was everybody's favorite uncle. He used to torture us and we loved it. He was the cause of many screams, squeals, and laughter of every child that crossed his path.

Cause of death: Complications from Emphysema

Luie Abraham Foster, 73, one of six children of Thomas D. and Susie Casey Foster, was born Jan. 6, 1928, at Bakersfield. He died Feb. 22, 2001, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield.
As a young boy, his family moved to the Roby area, where he attended the Pine Hollow School.
He married Clella June Storie June 14, 1947, at Waynesville. They had one daughter.
Mr. Foster was an equipment operator for many years for the National Forest Service. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and his citizens band radio.
He was a member of the New Life Ministries Full Gospel Church at Evening Shade, Plato Masonic Lodge #469 AF and AM, International Order of Odd Fellows #763 and Scottish Rite Freemasonry SJ USA of Valley of Joplin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Marie.
Surviving are his wife of the home; one daughter, Lenda Foster Rogers of Mountain Grove; two sisters, Lena O'Malley of Kansas City, Kan., and Kathy Davidson of Springfield; two brothers, Everett Foster of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Clifford Foster of Republic; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters, three step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Odd Fellow and Masonic services were Feb. 25 at the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Services were Feb. 26 at the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Eugene Earp officiating. Burial was in the Idumea Baptist Church Cemetery at Laquey.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
