A Sudden Death,
Wm B. Maddock, Sr., father of Wm B. Maddock of the Bloomfield News, died very suddenly Monday. Mr. Maddock was a very energetic and fearless man. He has spent a life of usefulness and his sudden death is quite a shock to his many friends. He was sitting in the express office on Thursday last and was suddenly struck by Paralysis, rendering him speechless and almost insensible, from which he never recovered. He lived from Thursday until Monday and expired. His son, of the News, received the solemn telegraphy of his death late Monday evening and went immediate Tuesday to his father's home, which is at Lafayette, Ind. Mr. Maddock was 62 years of age, was an energetic Democrat and at the time of his death was the Chairman of the County Committee and had been promised an appointment under the administration. We extend our deepest sympathy to our brother editor of the News and to his relatives.
