WEST POINT - Melissa Ann Malone Barnette, 45, died Jan. 14, 2010, at her residence. Services are today at 3 p.m. at Robinson Chapel with the Rev. Jerome Keys officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 p.m. until service time at Robinson Funeral Home. Mrs. Barnette was born Dec. 15, 1964, in West Point to Jean Malone and the late Pete Malone. She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she was over the youth department and very active in the youth activities. She was also very active in the children's department at the church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, O.D. and Louise Duncan. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Danny Barnette of West Point; daughter, Kristy Latay Whitaker of Eupora; brother, William Malone of West Point; sister, Teresa Hodnett of West Point; and one grandchild.
