Sarah Martin Pittman Stombaugh, 74, of 9 Oakleaf Road, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Woodruff, she was the daughter of the late Belle Merideth Martin Pittman and Dr. C. Frank Pittman, former pastor of Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stombaugh was a school teacher, homemaker and beloved mother. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, the Clarice Wilson Garden Club, where she was "Woman of the Year in 1996-1997", a 1948 graduate of Furman University, and a former president of Greenville Kennel Club.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons, Paul Jr. of Pennsylvania and Jeff of Greenville; brother, Frank Pittman, of Pickens; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Belle Martin Stombaugh Hulburt.

The memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at White Oak Baptist Church, with Dr. Albert Allen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Oak Baptist Church, 1805 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29609. - The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
