James F. Garrison

James F. Garrison, 76, Sarasota, died Sept. 14, 2002.

He was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Marion, Ind., and came to Sarasota in 1992 from Bloomington, Ind. He retired from Walt Disney World in 1999 and was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.

He was a volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Greenwood, Ind., the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and the Sahib Temple, Sarasota. He was past governor of Boys State of Indiana and a member of E.L.C.A. Mission Church, Sarasota.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara; a daughter, Linda A. of Sarasota; a son, John R. of Bloomington; sisters Mary Marler of Lancaster, Calif., and Helen Schardin of Sarasota; a brother, Clarence T. of Greenwood; and three grandchildren.

No visitation is scheduled. Memorial services will be later. Burial will be in Indiana. Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

James F. Garrison, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002. He was a resident of Sarasota, Fla., and a former resident of Bloomington.

He was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Marion. He married Barbara Garrison. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Linda A. Garrison of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, John R. Garrison of Bloomington; two sisters, Mary Marler of Lancaster, Calif., and Helen Schardin of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Clarence T. Garrison of Greenwood; and three grandchildren.

He was a graduate of the Indiana Masonic Home.

He retired from Walt Disney World in 1999.

He was a member of ELCA Mission Church in Sarasota, Fla., Masonic Lodge in Greenwood, Scottish Rite in Indianapolis and Sahib Temple in Sarasota, Fla. He was a volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and past governor of the Boys State of Indiana.

He was a U.S. Air Forces veteran of World War II.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Burial will be in Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota, Fla.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
