Michelle Lynette Dean was born on October 29, 1979, in Topeka, Kansas, to Stephen A. and Margaret Littlejohn Dean. She passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2011, surrounded by her family.

She lived all her life in Topeka, where she attended Topeka Public Schools, graduating from Topeka West High School in 1998. Michelle thoroughly enjoyed working with the staff and members of Educational Credit Union, her last place of employment. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her gentle spirit, and her kind heart.

Michelle was a joy to all whose lives she touched. As she was growing up she loved softball, basketball, swimming, and traveling. Her 31 years of life were interrupted by several major illnesses. These medical trials and struggles, although serious, did not dampen her spirit or change her sweet personality.

Michelle was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mrs. Letha Littlejohn and Mrs. Eulah Dean, and her grandfather, Mr. Orange Dean.

She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Margaret, her grandfather, Virdie Littlejohn, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church located at 1100 SE Washington Street. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel, 723 SW 6th Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Michelle to: The National Kidney Foundation , 6405 Metcalf, Suite 204, Overland Park, Kansas 66202; or American Cancer Society , 1315 SW Arrowhead, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
