ROLAND – William J.L. Garner, 81, of Roland died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999 in Roland. He retired as supervisor for Dixie Cup Company and past president of Dixie Cup Credit Union. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel of Fort Smith, with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith.

He was survived by one daughter, Norma Sue Kennedy of Roland; one son, Cecil of Fort Smith; 2 sisters, Joe Edna Lampman of Greenwood and Helen Arnold of Oklahoma City; three brothers Roy of Branson, MO., Alex of Oklahoma City, and Marvin Baldwin of Fort Smith; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Randall and Russell Garner, Damon and Kendall Perceful and Mike Ward.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
