The youngest and last surviving of thirteen children of the Vincenzo Marcovecchio family from Italy. Mother Meli in Stockton, Utah raised him. During World War II, he served three years under Gen. Patton in the African and European theatres.
As a forty-year truck driver for PIE, he received the Million-Mile award for safety. Married Emma Meli; later divorced. Married for sixty years to Colleen Bassett until her passing in 2008.
Survived by his three sons: Michael (Laurie) Roberts, Randy (Barbara), and Scott; daughters by love: Nona Merrill, Chris Smith, Robyn Brown; three grandsons; three granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren; in-laws Sharon Nytch and Keith and Millie Bassett; and niece JoAnn Dixon.
He requested no service be held.
Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery for family.
