Mrs. Sayre was born April 12, 1892 at Sweet Springs, W. Va. and was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Amanda Wickline Baker. She moved to Mt. Crawford in March of 1920.
She was a member of Mt. Crawford Unite Methodist Church.
On Oct. 14, 1915 she married Guy Gerald Sayre, who died Jan. 24, 1971.
Surviving are a daughters, Mrs. Carl W. Sipe of Mt Crawford; four sons, Ralph G. Sayre of Waynesboro, Paul W. Sayre of Port Republic, George M. Sayre of Harrisonburg and Howard H. Sayre of Mt. Crawford; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. C. C. Callahan of Covington, and two brothers, Clyde F. Baker of Barberton, Ohio and Jesse B. Baker of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.
The funeral will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Friday at Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by Dr. R. D. Gunsalus. Burial will be in Mt. Crawford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7:30-8:30 p.m. today.
