James L. Beaumont was the youngest son of James J. Beaumont and Louisa (Myers) Beaumont. He was born near Lancaster, Kentucky. He was a brother to Wesley P. Beaumont of Moweaqua, Illinois, Joseph Beaumont of Moweaqua, Geraldine (Judd) of Pana, Illinois, Cordelia (Russell) of Pana as well as sisters Ellen (Stevens), Nina (Wittmann), Molly (Cottrell/Pence)and Susan (Underwood). James was married twice. He and his first wife Laura (Tolly) had one child; James Harrold Beaumont (1891-1979). After a divorce, Laura later married Arthur Dorithy. James later married Gertrude Tilley and had four children; boys Gilbert, Delmar (1904-1978), Denver (who died in infancy) and daughter Ada Louise Beaumont (Lockart). James and Gertrude (AKA: Doll) lived in the Pana and Cowden, Illinois areas for many years.
