Timothy Levi Burgess, 58, our beloved son, brother, passed quietly in his sleep to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 13, 2011, after a battle with cancer.

Tim was born in Chattanooga, November 13, 1952, moved with his family to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in 1963. He is a graduate of Plantation High School, and worked in sales of Mens Clothing and Grocery management.

He was a member of Plantation Baptist Church.

Tim moved back to Chattanooga in 1990, and will be missed for his smile and kind heart by family and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Willard L. Burgess.

He is survived by his mother, G. Maxine Stancil Wood (James P.), Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, Charles W. Moore II (Kathy), Pell City, Ala.; uncle, Paul E. Stancil, Mobile, Ala.; nephews, Tristan C. Moore, Blacksburg, Va., Nicholas J. Moore, Hayesville, N.C.; several close cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the North Chapel.

Services for Tim will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the North Chapel.

Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Tristan C. Moore, Nicholas J. Moore, Paul E. Stancil II, Mark Langston, Daniel Stancil and Russell Stancil serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, Hixson, TN.
