Zelma Elizabeth Blundell Ellis, 78, was born on May 31, 1932 in Abernathy, Texas to Jim J. and Elizabeth (Baughman) Armstrong and passed away on April 14, 2011 at her residence.

She has lived in Lea County for over 40 years and was a devout Christian lady.

She was an active member of Good News Assembly of God Church and at one time taught Sunday school.

She was employed in earlier years at Good Samaritan Center in the physical therapy department. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting; journaling and writing poems and was very interested in doing genealogy.

She married Gene Ellis Sr. on July 9, 1994 in Tatum, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Danny Tutt; one step-son: Gene Ellis Jr.; one brother and four sisters.

She is survived by her husband Gene Sr. of the home; three sons: Russ and wife Vicki Blundell of Las Cruces, NM; Kenneth and wife Brenda Sue Blundell of Fruitland, Idaho; William and wife Theresa Blundell of Odessa, TX; two step-sons: Ricky Ellis of San Antonio, TX and James and wife Ann Ellis of Tatum, NM; three Step-daughters: Wanda Jean and husband Darrell Morgan of Florida; Bobbie and husband Gary Coffer of Tatum, NM and Lola Jackson of Lovington, NM. Also two sisters: Jeannie Shorter of Aztec, NM and Myrna and husband Pal Thompson of Acton, TX and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
