JANE ELLEN CAHL
Jane Ellen Cahl, 69 years of age and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness. She was born March 4, 1941 in Amherst.
Jane was a lifetime resident of Amherst and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in the class of 1959. Jane was employed as a secretary at St. Joseph Hospital for 33 years and also worked at Lorain County Community College Foundation for five years. She was an active member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst where she sang in the choir and was a member of Alter Guild. Jane was one of the original members of the Amherst Community Chorus.
Survivors include her cousin and caretaker, Mrs. Kenneth Cynthia Bring of Amherst; as well as many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pauline Cahl (nee Strauss).
Friends may call Friday, December 17, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. from St. Peter United Church of Christ, 582 Church St., Amherst. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
