Laura Fawcett was born March 24, 1896, at Ocheyedan, the daughter of Charles and Erna Marie (Steffenhagen) Buchman. She attended Ocheyedan Public School and was married to Floyd Fawcett August 29, 1915. They farmed in the Ocheyedan area until they retired and moved to town.
Her husband died November 29, 1976. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps and the Congregational Church.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lucille French of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers.
