GLADYS A. MAHON, 76, of Shelby, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home.
She was born June 5, 1934 in Martin County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Whitt and Jane (Maynard) Collins. She was a former employee of Geauga Plastics in Crestline and Mika Products in Shelby. She retired from Shelby Memorial Hospital after 14 years of service in the dietary department. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Lane Mahon, whom she wed on December 12, 1949; three sons, Blane (Mary) Mahon of Bellefontaine, Danny Ray (Helen) Mahon of Shelby, Julis (Denise) Mahon of Shelby; four daughters, Sheila (Howard) Martin of Tiro, Thella (Bob) Wells of Shelby, Darlis Legg (Charles Battles) of Shelby, and Judy Allen of Shelby; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve Pippin of Illinois, along with eight other sisters and five brothers, whom she held close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. S.T. Adkins. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
