SWANTON
Edward, thirteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Coon was fatally burned Monday at 2:00 o'clock. After suffering 23 hours he passed away. The little fellow was making candy on a wood range and as the fire was low he poured coal oil on the fire, the can exploding, covering him with oil. His mother was at a Missionary Convention at Kalamazoo, Mich., at the time, altho his father was at home but was out to the barn working when he heard the explosion and heard the boy's screams. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Union church, Sharpler (sic) Corners, burial in Sharpler cemetery.
