Thelma is survived by 6 daughters, 1 step-daughter, 4 sons, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 9 great- great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers

In addition to her grandchildren and great grandchildren she was called Granny Watson by many of their friends also. Several children and grandchildren are business owners and she requested their employee's call her that whenever she visited or interacted with them, as well as family friends, neighbors, ministers, and a host of other unrelated people

She was happiest when she had all her chicks and their families and friends gathered at her house for holidays, family dinners or any type of party.

She loved sitting on her front porch watching the traffic go by, squirrels & birds playing in her yard, her flowers blooming, deer and fox running across the field, doing search a word puzzles at which she was a wiz, putting puzzles together, reading and listening to her music collection, country and gospel were her favorites.

Christmas was her favorite time of the year, she always insisted on a large tree and loved to decorate the entire house and yard.

At 90 years of age her hearing ability was low but her mind and memory were still sharp as a tack.

She was the oldest child of her parents and after their death's became the matriarch of the family to whom everyone loved and respected. That honor has now been passed to her oldest daughter.

Even though there was a 34 yr age difference between her and her 1st husband James, they were very much in love and together produced 4 beautiful daughters, mom often told us he put her on a throne and treated her like a queen.

Services provided by Joyners Funeral Home,(her nephew)Rev. William Fitzgerald and Rev. Tim McFatter Officiating.
