Mildred married Lawrence Janning, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Janning, of Blooming Prairie, Minn. on November 17, 1931, at the Holy Family church in Lidderdale, Carroll County, Iowa. The Rev. Father J.A. Underberg performed the ceremony. They settled on a farm, near Blooming Prairie, Minn.
Mildred and Lawrence were the parents of Marjorie (Mrs. Clem Besch), who had three children, all living at Kasson, Minn.
Her husband, Lawrence, died June 10, 1965.

Rites Wednesday for Mildred Janning

KASSOM -- A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Mildred H. Janning at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Byron, with the Rev. Charlie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Mrs. Janning, 88, a resident of Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center and formerly of rural Kasson, died Monday morning (Feb. 7, 1994) at the nursing home.
Mildred H. Thelen was born March 30, 1905, in Auburn, Iowa, and grew up there. On Nov. 17, 1931, she married Lawrence Janning in Iowa. They lived in the rural Austin-Blooming Prairie area while he was a road contractor for a year and then farmed. From 1932 to 1942, her husband worked for Hormel Foods Corp. In 1946, they moved to rural Kasson where they farmed until Mr. Janning's death in 1965. Mrs. Janning continued to live on the farm until entering the nursing home nine months ago. She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie (Mrs. Clement) Besch of rural Kasson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Diblle Funeral Home in Kasson where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.
