Civil War Figure. She was the wife of Frank Dawson, editor of the "News And Courier" in Charleston, South Carolina. Her diary, written from the age of 19 to just a few years before her death, has been published three times. The first, "A Confederate Girl's Diary", was published first in 1913, and again in 1960 (Civil War Centennial Edition) by the Indiana University Press. The second was "Sarah Morgan - The Civil War Diary Of A Southern Woman".
