Lorraine Davis Porter, 85, of Arcola died Thursday, April 14 at "The Whitmore" in Oxford. The Rev. Joyce Odom and the Rev. Julie Poston will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Arcola. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Hollister. The family will receive friends at Bethlehem United Methodist Church an hour prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon T. and Tommie York Davis; and her husband, John Exum Porter, Jr.
Mrs. Porter was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She taught school in Portsmouth, Va. and Warren County. She was a charter member of the Warren County Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.
Mrs. Porter is survived by two sons, John Bailey Porter and wife, Connie, of Henderson and Robert D. Porter and wife, Joyce Anne, of Apex; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church or Harris Chapel Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by Blaylock Funeral Home of Warrenton.
