Killed in Action - 18th July 2009 in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan (Operation Slipper) when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED)exploded while under hostile fire during cordon and search operation.
The heartbroken girlfriend of fallen Melbourne Digger Benjamin Ranaudo says a part of her soul was stolen when he was tragically killed by an explosion in Afghanistan. Haylee McCarthy, 21, wrote a heartfelt message to her lost love on her Facebook page, saying he would stay with her forever.
"Forever in my heart, forever in my mind - you've taken a bit of my soul with you bub," Ms McCarthy wrote. "I really thought we were going to be together forever."
