Helen Elois Dyess Traylor
Helen Elois Dyess Traylor, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid-City. She was born on Sunday, May 20, 1928, in Lincoln County, Miss. Mrs. Traylor was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Mae and Stephen Bearry; five sons and daughters-in-law, Francis N. Jr. and Anne Marie Traylor, Glen H. and Candice Traylor, William R. "Bill" and Pam Traylor, Terry N. and Jo Anne Traylor, and Col. John Mark and Karole Traylor; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Billie Rae Burnett; brother, Dr. Jerry Dyess; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera Viola Beall and Johnny W. Dyess; first husband, the Rev. Francis N. Traylor Sr.; second husband, Theodore Forrest; and sister, Johnnie Mae Welch. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Sunday, Jan. 18, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 19, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery, Pumpkin Center.
